NOSTALGIA

This weekend,I was chatting
with my mother when she
became nostalgic and remembered
her childhood days. Some memories
I would like to share with you.
"Master Zinda Kaul also known as
MASTER JI was my teacher in
Vasanta Girls High School at Habba
Kadal(near mosque)in Srinagar.
He taught me English in 8th.class.
It was 1948 or probably 1949.
Masterji would address me as "TAKI"
(My mother is from Takus of Malik
Angan).
She recited some of Masterji's couplets which he wrote in the glory
Of God(Hymns).She explained the
meaning in simple Kashmiri language. Some of these are ;
WUCHIM GAT CHENY DEVAGAT
TSE BIN DAI NO SARAY LO LO
MEI ANDHAR KAR PANUN MANDAR
BA TSEY POOZA KARAY LOLO
The translation to me is:
I have seen thy great power O Love
which is marvellous as God's. I know
no God apart from thee(Love).
Make my heart thy shrine, I will always worship thee.
NITAM PAMPOSH PADAN TAL,
TIMAN HUND BHOWRA SOOZITH
KANDYAN PETH MARE ROOZITH
BA CHANEY AASRAY LO LO.
Guide me to thy Lotus like feet like
a bumble bee.Living in this body, I am restless like one lying on thorns
sustained by the hope that I shall 
someday be among thy devotees.
SMARAN PANIN DITSENAM PREMUK NISHAN VASIYE, RASRUN
TAGUM N ROOVUM OOSUM N BAN
VASIYA.
My friend, He gave me his memories
as a token of His love, but Alas ! I 
failed to take good care of it and
lost it .I was wnworthy of it.
It is said that Master ji wrote it when
he lost his son .
There are many more, Some oher time "
